Hey There,
Although I'm usually the one who likes to ask the questions, here is a mash-up answer to all the usual essay questions.
I am a pretty fit early 60's, outdoor enthusiast, well traveled, entrepreneur, who lives in CT. I've been skiing since I was 4 and am a ski patroller in VT on weekends.
I am 4 years into widowerhood after 32 years of a very special marriage, and just beginning to open myself up to life's possibilities again. I still work, and like what I do. The good news is, I've gotten to the point where I can chase a midweek powder day at a moments notice.
I don't have a good poker face which keeps me honest. I have been told I am compassionate, empathic, and "Wicked funny". I have a gift for keeping things in perspective and finding the positive spin in everyone and everything.
Skiing, being on the water, or hiking puts me in a state of bliss. I thrive on the challenges, the freedom, the connection to nature, and the comraderies that ensue.
Other interests are, boating, sailing, live music in small venues, reading non-fiction, art museums and galleries, med-large dogs and horses.
I am not religious, but somewhat spiritual. Not outwardly political, nor am I apathetic. I am an independent thinker who is actively interested in what is going on in the world and do what I can to protect each other and the planet, but I don't wear it on my sleave.
Ideally I would like to meet a New Englander who can ski just about anything, enjoys skiing even in the east, dresses for the elements, loves first tracks and maybe even last chair. Has a fun and creative sense of humor, a great laugh, and is grounded and relaxed, has her own passions, activities, and interests.
Dancing in the living room or singing along in the car is highly encouraged. As is yoga and meditation and pausing to soak up the sun/sunset, smell the air, or relish the view.
